Foreclosure horror stories show need for scrutiny by judges
Secretary of State William Galvin’s proposal for judicial foreclosure makes sense for Massachusetts. It would help ensure that borrowers’ rights are respected, but also give buyers of foreclosed properties the satisfaction of a clear title. Though critics say the court system is overburdened, 23 other states have made it work.
